The Beanlands have called Southlake, Texas home since 2005. An Alabama native, Ame left sweet home for San Francisco State where her degree in professional writing and graphic design led to a creative directorship for a small publishing house in Berkeley. She began writing with co-author Emily Miles Terry and together they wrote, designed and packaged the bestseller It’s a Chick Thing followed by the New York Times Bestseller Nesting: It’s a Chick Thing with renowned Workman Publishing. Today she's a seasoned print specialist and award-winning graphic artist dedicated to designing and producing goods that "surprise and delight." Her beloved Carroll Dragon work “putting a Dragon on it”  began in 2006 when her daughter, Gracie, entered kindergarten at Old Union—she printed stationery and gave it to teachers and friends—garnering the attention of  Carroll ISD who invited her to become a licensee and a preferred vendor.  Ame B Design is the creative studio where she works with businesses, authors, organizations, school districts and thrillingly the occasional professional and Olympic athlete.
